Our team has decided to
analyze and overview AlphaLab’s application process for their software
accelerator program. This process is the most essential process the company
has, as it is central to the company’s functionality. We have been granted
permission the use the company name and our interviewee’s name. Here is the
company website.
The process starts when
the company announces the opening of their application period. From there the
company, including our interviewee Aaron Tainter, will recruit possible
candidates and encourage them to apply to the program. These applicants will
submit their applications via AlphaLab’s website. The applications go in to an
application repository where the data is stored. Aaron Tainter and others will
review the applications over a 3-4 week period, and then interview the selected
candidates over the next month. When they have selected their initial
candidates, they will send out an email to interview them. They will send out
emails to denied applications notifying them of the company’s decision. Once
they complete two interviews, AlphaLab will select final candidates. As with
denied applications, AlphaLab will notify the second round applicants of their
denial into the program. The successful final candidates will receive the
offer, and complete a background check that is performed by a third party. If
they pass, they will begin the accelerator program. This ends the process.
This diagram is made in
BPMN format in accordance with the requirements outlined in our textbook, MIS
Essentials 4th Edition by David Kroenke. The book talks about swimlanes
that separate specific tasks or roles performed by a certain person or group of
people. Then there are the specific activities, connected by data and sequence
flows. (David Kroenke).
